Homemade Peach Ice Cream
Ingredients:
• 2 pounds fresh peaches (peeled, pitted, and chopped)
• 1 cup white sugar
• 2 cups heavy cream
• 1 cup whole milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Peaches
• In a bowl, mix the chopped peaches with ½ cup of sugar.
• Let them sit for 20-30 minutes until they release their juices.
• Blend or mash them slightly, leaving some chunks for texture.
2. Make the Ice Cream Base
• In a separate bowl, whisk together:
• Heavy cream
• Milk
• Remaining ½ cup sugar
• Vanilla extract
• Salt
• Lemon juice
3. Mix & Chill
• Add the mashed peaches to the ice cream mixture.
• Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best results).
4. Churn the Ice Cream
• Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20-25 minutes).
• If you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container, stirring every 30 minutes until thick and creamy (about 3-4 hours).
5. Freeze & Serve
• Once churned, transfer to an airtight container and freeze for 2-4 hours for a firmer texture.
• Scoop and enjoy!
